I’ve been trying to get my son to watach ol’ movies with me, Fu Manchu, Godzilla, Escape form NY etc etc.. He’s just nnot getting it. Too many damn Pookemons in his head.
We’re both in the same boat. I’ve got my 12-year-old nephew over for the holidays. I figure he’s old enough to watch some of our movies… but yeah, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Bakugan Battle Brawlers and even (God help me…) Spongebob Squarepants.

I quite enjoy watching cartoon movies myself. Yeah, they might be for kids, but damn they’re awesome.
But, yeah, I follow the unwritten rule: Don’t go into a kids movie alone (so I usually take my nephew along).

given args love of dicks and sense of humor i really dont think its otto … mostly because i think he could draw otto better and in his suit so you could tell its him but mainly because that looks to me like a boy on his way to becoming a man that has just lost all interest in the movie in favor of a epic pair.
ps. I also think hes drawn to look blank and straight faced because that is how the character hopes other will see him … as in he hopes no one sees him erect with his eyes locked on target.

my dad didn’t introduce me to the wonderful world of old movies until i was a teenager and the first thing i said to him was “WHY! why haven’t I been watching these my whole life!” then I pelted him with skittles. (only a few tho as i didn’t want to waste the skittles.)
Yeah, I watched Airplane! for the first time… about a year ago, with my gf who’d never heard of it.
We do this a lot… I know the memetic part of something (Example: Live Long and Prosper and the generalities of the normal Trek), and she knows nothing about it because she grew up with a different culture (She grew up in Hawaii, I grew up in the continental US), so we end up watching the source to further my understanding and show her the whole thing.
Give the pedo a Trench coat and it will make me smile~

I’ve never seen Airplane either. Just never got around to it. I’ve had opportunities to watch it on Netflix recently, but I haven’t had anyone to watch it with, so I’m pretty much waiting around for that.
