So Canada may be phasing out the penny…
So some of you may know that I’ve been working on compiling my first book of ARG strips. It’s been a slow process and I wanted to have the Kickstarter/Indiegogo already going by now. But as most of you know, I had to take care of some health issues. SO. it’s looking like mid april is when I should have the Kickstarter/Indiegogo thinger going. I’ve already got some ideas for some of the tier rewards, I’d just like to throw the question to you guys. What sort of incentives and rewards would you like to see?
So if you follow the I am ARG facebook group or my twitter (@IamARG) you know that I’ve started Streaming some of my comic drawing periods. So if you’re a follower of either of those you’ll get updates on when I’m going to stream.
Better get an umbrella. Cause its raining cold hard facts up in this place.
Very nice analogy 🙂
Raining pennies from heaven?
An autographed sketch of you making a dick joke? I’d love one of those.
That can be arranged
Penny: well you’re only half the man she deserves!”
That was terrible.
I wanted to say that one…
I actually had that originally in the joke but felt it detracted from the original punch line. so I went for the single punch and pumped up the second panel to enforce it more.
The penny is only being phased out because of inflation. The U.S. penny is made almost entirely of zinc with only a thin layer of copper coating it. That’s basically means its not worth the same price as what copper goes for at that value. A similar thing occurred near the fall of the Roman Empire when they started making their gold coins more and more out of copper, as it was then as today, copper is worth less than silver or gold. so if you make something you claim is worth more out something that is less than that value, that’s essentially the basis of inflation. and it means a dying economy where the value of the product you’re paying for is more than you can afford. the biggest example of the 20th century was Germany Weimar Republic and how the Nazis used “bail outs” to prop it all up before it crashed down around them during the war. those who ignore the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat the same mistakes.
cool story bro
I no longer want to be funny….
I lawled
I’d be afraid of you cried… meant i did something wrong.
Kickstarter idea: Give over $200, get an invite to the wedding with the waterslide. (Falls on guest to pay for expenses).
lol… I don’t know if the fiancée will go for it.
I guess there are cheaper ways to ride a waterslide.
I can say I would not miss the penny that much if it was phased out here in the States. As Ashiyama stated (and well put too) costs more to make than it is worth so why bother really.
indeed. I’m in agreement too. Better finish rolling all my change!
I would like to see a tier where you get an autographed copy of the book.
Every tier that gets a book will be autographed. There will be a tier where you can get a personalized sketch.
Dime was previously with Quarter, but he was too tall and a little pompous. Plus, Nickel is thicker.
The idea of phasing out the penny here in the US has popped up from time to time as well. I think some guy suggested replacing it with an 18 cent piece, but that just sounds retarded. Far as I’m concerned, it shouldn’t be that hard to round everything to the nearest five cents.
As far as donation rewards go, a custom sketch would be pretty cool, but it looks like you’re already doing that. Maybe some posters/prints of the cover or something?
Where are pennys arms in the first panel?
Pennies <3
This sir, is brilliant.
Oh don’t worry, Nickel will come back.
No one wants Nickel back.
