Yeah I debated whether to have that ending but I think it works.

Seriously though, amazing and well done. Very touching and hits me right in the retro-gamer. Its so different from what we normally see oughta you and it really worked without needing to create an over-complicated story (or add dialogue which was a nice touch)

That was really well done. I especially liked how you managed to convey all of the story without resorting to text. It’s definitely a departure from your normal style, but you handled it parfectly! Though it’s kinda sad, that last bit.
Reminds me of how I felt when I couldn’t save the rusalka in Quest for Glory. :.(

I just found this comic 2 days ago but I loved the mini story. Crazy good work and you did it all in a day? Nice.
I feel absolutely horrid for saying this, but that was a horrible ending.
The rest of the story was fantastic, but including what TVTropes has dubbed a “Doppleganger Love Interest” just sort of ruined it for me. It always annoys me when that happens, and the story would have been a fantastic tearjerker if you didn’t include that one page.
I feel like a total arse after saying that, because the rest of the comic was amazing in pretty much every way. Amazing art, beautiful story, even great characters, which is something I’m shocked you got right in 24 hours. They bounce off each other so well and the art style and the story fit perfectly, but dammit, that one page.
