This weekend we had a BBQ and I had Lynn come up with a completely original Anime to populate the panels of this comic. The results are Spectacular… and we recorded all the audio. HERE’S A LINK TO LYNN AND FRIENDS IMPROVISING AN ENTIRE ANIME PREMISE.
So, it’s no secret that I’m not HUGE into Anime. I don’t not like it, there’s just few outside of Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball that I do like. But Netflix seems to populated by TONS of Boobie anime.
If you’re not watching Kirby: Right Back At Ya!, you’re watching B-grade anime. Fact.
yep
well if you’re not watching One piece, you are DEFINITELY watching B-grade anime
There are a lot of good stories out there that are plagued with an over-abundance of fanservice.
That’s such an awesome idea. I wish it would become a real anime.
Dude, go and watch Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood right now, seriously, one of the greatest anime’s of all time
Sooo, 98% sure that FMA was what got me into anime, back when it aired on…whatever channel played an overabundance of Inuyasha (Cartoon Network, maybe?), and also showed Wolf’s Rain, Witch Hunter Robin, Evangelion, Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, etc. Nothing really stuck with me quite like FMA. I liked Inuyasha, but it seemed like I always missed the episodes I’d not seen and could never catch the ones I needed. and I cried (probably) at one of the last episodes of Wolf’s Rain, I think. But the next anime that I really enjoyed was Soul Eater (which, excitingly enough, now has a spinoff called Soul Eater: NOT, I think) and Sorcerer Hunters, Kimi to Boku and, oddly enough, I love love love Kaleido Star and Fairy Tale (although I’m behind on Fairy Tale by quite a bit at the moment). I was never really into the gangum/robot stuff. But, Cowboy Bebop gave me a profound appreciation for corgis because they’re fucking adorable.

I was always fond of Trigun.
You didn’t even say there were spoilers! I’m only on the second season of Robot No Student Card!
I’m going to have to show this comic to my friends. Making up animes will be our new favorite pass time.
So that bumbling teacher in the audio-thingy, I imagine that the students know that his plans always fail but he presents them so convincingly that they think that maybe this time it will work. And then they get sent off to Robot War.
And there is definitely a one way romance between him and the teacher that knows exactly how to help the kids avoid Robot War. Do you think he should admire her ability to come up with the perfect plans or is he too vain (think America from Hetalia) to acknowledge that she’s good at coming up with plans. Maybe she admires that he’s always trying to help the students even though he fails.
wow…. that’s actually rather impressive. I would watch that show just to try it out, based on that summary!
I…. actually followed that
And now you also have an audio recording proving that Lynn is actually real! Score!
I really want to watch this show.
Arg, if you liked Evangelion and Coboy bebop, check out Black Lagoon,
Hellsing, Ghost in the shell: Stand Alone Complex, Blue Gender, outlaw star,
Or Rahxephon, all of them are great stories with little to no fan service.
Modern anime/manga in a nutshell. There are good ones but most of them are in the seinen genre which usually means way better plots and more developped characters.
The mainstream or shounen/shojou are mostly a cesspit of copy pasting.
Not big into anime myself, the only anime have in my DVD collection are Ghost in the Shell SAC, Appleseed Ex Machina, Black Lagoon and Canaan, but Robot No Student Card sounds like perfectly plausible anime premise to me!
You like Cowboy Bebop eh?
You are forgiven.
Every time I read a synopsis like this, all I can think of is that commercial from ABC’s “Dinosaurs” series.
So, netflix had an issue with the anime licenses so a lot of their selection is fan-service boobie stuff. if you are looking for a good anime source check out crunchyroll
The audio was amazing. I’d watch that anime. (;
That show sounds so awesome. Please make a mini-series out of this.
Lynn is an otaku! Possibly.
Hmmm. you might like this anime: http://animewaffles.tv/Watch-Asobi-ni-Ikuyo-Bombshells-from-the-Sky-96
ERMAGERD! YOU HAVE TUMBLR! Didn’t know that til now!
Ow, my head exploded.
Tengen toppa gurren lagann… It’s so over the top you can’t help but enjoy it.
We all have at-least one of those friends… You know? The ones who ask you something and start slowly backing away when you answer…
Am I evil for only skimming that whole thing through,
up until the point I noticed “boobs”?
